• Furthermore, recent worldwide shortage of contrast media has significantly impacted our standard practice, including the ability to perform CTA.1 In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the feasibility and safety of the utilization of noncontrast CTA (NCCTA) for procedural planning of TAVI with self-expanding valves (SEVs).Methods We included consecutive patients who had a preprocedural CTA or NCCTA and underwent TAVI with SEVs (Evolut R, PRO or Pro+; Medtronic Inc, Minneapolis, Minnesota) at University Hospitals, Cleveland Medical Center from December 2017 to May 2022. [...]the number of patients who had NCCTA were limited; however, this is, to the best of our knowledge, the first documented experience of NCCTA utilization in this scenario. [...]the study cohort did not include patients who had TAVI with balloon-expandable valves because we do not use NCCTA for procedural planning because of concerns of annular rupture.5 In conclusion, the clinical outcomes of TAVI with SEV in patients who underwent NCCTA for procedural planning were similar to those with CTA.
