• A inch 640x480 pixel active pixel sensor has a 5.6x5.6 mu m super(2) pixel with the image operating with a 50 V single power supply and less than 30 mW dissipation using a 0.6 mu m, double poly-silicon, triple metal CMOS process technology. The transistor address type has three transistors while the capacitor address type has one capacitor and one transistor. The vertical register of the chip sequentially selects a single row line for signal read-out processing. The signal charge generated at the photodiodes is buffered in the primary source follower amplifier in each cell. The output signal from the pixel is buffered and linked to a 1 H memory by a sampling enable switch.
