Structural changes which can take place in a polymer due to the presence of small solvent molecules have not been elucidated satisfactorily as yet. No simple correlation between the structures in dry and saturated states was found. Generally, it is considered that in the case of the existence of mesostructure, the more dense aggregates are impenetrable for solvents. The sorption results in the structural change, which should be influenced by such parameters, as: initial morphology of the polymer, type of solvent and the polymer-solvent interaction. Our earlier work has shown evidence of these kinds of structural changes. The purpose of the present work is to examine the kinetics of the structural changes observed for swollen segmented polyurethanes during the desorption of swelling agent and to relate the obtained results to the kinetics of the desorption process.
