• Two new superalloys developed for industrial turbine applications have been introduced by Cannon-Muskegon Corp, subsidiary of SPS Technologies, Muskegon, Michigan, USA. The cast alloys, named CMSX-11B and CMSX-11C contain, respectively, nominal chromium levels of 12.5% and 14.5%. Both materials reportedly offer good blends of hot corrosion and oxidation resistance. Additionally, the alloys are extremely castable, require only relatively simple solution heat treatment, and exhibit good creep strength.
