- The PDE method generates surfaces from the solutions to elliptic partial differential equations (PDEs), where boundary conditions are used to control surface shape. This paper describes a method whereby PDE surfaces may be obtained in closed form, even for the case of general boundary conditions. Furthermore, the method is fast, making possible the interactive manipulations of PDE surfaces in real-time.
