Beschreibungen/Notizen
The increasing relative importance of an uphill component of permeation flux with increasing values of n0 over the range preceding the main region of alpha - > beta phase transition, would seem likely to be associated with early stages of formation of greatly expanded beta phase structures. By part analogy with concentration profiles corresponding to a series of time dependences of bending deflections of Pd strips charged with hydrogen through one face. Figures show diagrammatic representations of concentration profiles across the thickness of the membrane wall, combined with simultated volume deformations, corresponding to stages of advance of an alpha / beta phase boundary. The maximal strain deformation effects that can be anticipated just before the boundary reaches the mid line of the thickness of the membrane wall is illustrated. Graphs. 11 ref.--J.H.
