Linear and nonlinear features of a robust plasma-magnetic-field interchange Rayleigh-Taylor instability have been observed in the limit of large ion Larmor radius. The instability is shown to exhibit a rapid linear phase, with subsequent nonlinear free-streaming flutes and examples of density clumping, flute-tip bifurcation, and late-time spiral-like structures. The features of the present instability are consistent with predictions of a modified MHD theory (Hassam and Huba, 1987) and results obtained in the AMPTE barium-release experiment. (R.R.)
