Whereas surgical specialties are prone to examine the publication rates of the abstracts presented in their congresses, there is a paucity of data on the outcome of the abstracts presented in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. [...]there is no data on the impact of the junior or senior status of the presenter on the abstract conversion rate to full publication. In multivariate analysis, the prospective design of clinical trials was the single parameter associated with an increased rate of publication (OR = 2.2 (CI 1.1–4.4)) (Table 1).
