In a brief interview, James Gosling, co-inventor of the Java programming language, discusses his life and technology. Gosling said that When he was 14, maybe 13, a friend of his dad's took him on a tour of the University of Calgary computer centre, and he thought, Oh, this is cool. He discovered he could break in fairly easily. Gosling discovered that he was good at programming, somebody offered him a job, and by the time he was in high school, he was working in the University of Calgary's physics department writing software for the scientists. Sun feels more like a hippie commune than a corporation.
