• It's an old, old idea that probably enough people don't use," says Margot Franssen, president of The Body Shop Canada. She is mentoring Ontario winner Stephanie Jukes, owner of Hand Me Downs, an Oshawa-based second-hand children's clothing retailer. Franssen says her primary goal is to help Jukes "avoid the pitfalls we fell into" in starting a franchise operation. It seems the mentors themselves can also learn from the experience. Franssen says she was impressed with the way Jukes' firm has embraced computer technology. "It took us ages to get to that stage," Franssen muses. "It makes you sit up and take notice."
