• I read with interest the article by Kabbani and colleagues1 on outpatient antibiotic prescribing patterns between 2011 and 2014 among older adults in the United States. Among the findings of this study were that fluoroquinolones were the most commonly prescribed outpatient antibiotics, accounting for 22% of all prescribed antibiotics.
