A Gram-stain negative, aerobic, motile by flagella, rod-shaped strain (THG-T16

) was isolated from rhizosphere of
Hibiscus syriacus
. Growth occurred at 10–40 °C (optimum 28–30 °C), at pH 6.0–8.0 (optimum 7.0) and at 0–1.0% NaCl (optimum 0%). Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, the near phylogenetic neighbours of strain THG-T16
