• The Berlin School of Library and Information Science at Humboldt University, one in the small group of Germany’s universities officially classified as excellent, is the unique information school at German universities offering information studies with a focus on libraries. Its programs of study are: combined Bachelor’s Program Library and Information Science (LIS) as major subject or as second subject, i.e. students have to choose a second discipline which makes one or two third of the entire degree program; Bachelor’s Program Information Management and Information Technology, a degree program including 50% LIS modules and 50% computer science modules; Master’s Program LIS with a focus on research in the field; Postgraduate Master’s Distance Study Programme which is comparable to a Business MBA. Furthermore the Berlin School has cooperation agreements with foreign universities for special degree programs and module exchanges.
