• The formulation and solution of the problem of remote determination of vertical temperature profiles from slant-path radiometric measurements of the outgoing radiation of the Earth-atmosphere system in the range lambda identical with 5 mm are discussed in certain physical and mathematical aspects. Results of the retrieval of temperature profiles from observational data are presented. The error of determination of the vertical profiles is discussed.
