In this paper, a new equalization method without noise enhancement is proposed for dual PN padding TDS-OFDM systems. Using dual identical PN sequences as training sequences, payload and the subsequent PN sequence form a joint block. The preceding PN sequence is treated as cyclic prefix of the joint block, which leads to low-complexity equalization using single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) techniques. The proposed method does not utilize overlap-add (OLA) operations to reconstruct the circular convolution, which avoids the noise enhancement caused by OLA operations. Furthermore, the reconstruction of interference caused by the training sequences is also not required in the proposed method. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed equalization method can achieve better performance than the OLA-based methods in the multipath fading channels.
