• In order to get quick response of active power from Vienna rectifier and improve the robust and dynamic performance of the control system, the direct power control (DPC) strategy is proposed based on novel sliding mode varied structure controller (SMC) and proportional integral (PI). The neutral voltage balance is achieved through the compensation from feed-forward voltage to up and down capacitor voltages which makes the system works stably at the condition of unity power factor. The method is derived and the specific process is shown. The proposed method is analyzed and verified by the Matlab/Simulink simulation and experimental prototype and the feasibility of the proposed method is verified by the results.
