• Illustrated is the utility of a computer-based model as a resource for caseworkers & other professionals responsible for child placement decision making. This decision support system is based on statistical modeling of residential programs for children, & provides the worker with information on what child care facilities or programs are most likely to admit a particular child. A hypothetical case history of a teenager is provided to illustrate the use of the model. The need for the decision support system by supervisors, administrators, policymakers, & caseworkers is discussed. AA
