  • Recognizing the need for integrated treatment of co-occurring disorders (CODs) among Navy service members, the Navy's Bureau of Medicine (BUMED) contracted with Hazelden, a nonprofit organization that specializes in training clinical personnel, to deliver an evidence-based intervention for treating patients with CODs. The Navy arranged for Hazelden personnel to train staff from Navy Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Programs (SARPs) to develop competence in delivering integrated care for CODs. RAND researchers evaluated the implementation of the training among SARP personnel and made recommendations for improving future training of SARP personnel. Tables, Figures, Appendixes, References.
