  • Without the Gypsy curse that gave Angel his soul, the Buffyverse would be a very different place. Just as that single curse had far-reaching consequences in the television shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, fictional representations of Romani characters have long-lasting and unintended consequences in real life. This paper examines why, 10 years after its on-air conclusion, BtVS and its universe remain significant when studying ethnic representations and stereotypes in popular culture/media.
