Due to the surface character, the gear industry has special requirements of the induction heating quenching. With the advantages of small deformation and high productivity, the metal workpiece surface hardening is widely used in industry, which greatly simplifies the gear manufacturing process, reducing costs and energy consumption. The simultaneous dual frequency method of inductive gear hardening has great significance. This paper introduces the induction heating power supply and simultaneous synchronous dual-frequency induction heating power supply, analyzing the circuit and application benefits of simultaneous dual-frequency induction hardening, and ends with the academic analysis, simulation by Simulink/Matlab, and practice experiment. The experiment is done by a MOSFET high-frequency induction heating power supply and a IGBT medium-frequency power supply.
