In this paper, a mathematical analysis of the frequency selective fading produced by multipath propagation is presented, as well as recent techniques to reduce the effects of this phenomenon as the diversity of antennas, the Rake receiver, the adaptive equalization and Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing.
