  • Granary weevil, Sitophilus granarius (L.), development from egg to adult emergence on barley, corn, oats, rice, and wheat was examined at 27.5 degrees C and 75% RH. Development was slowest on corn and fastest on rice. No differences in developmental duration were observed among barley, oats, and wheat. Progeny production was highest on barley and wheat, followed by (in descending order) corn, rice, and oats. Granary weevil development from egg to adult emergence on corn was examined at 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 degrees C, and 43, 58, or 75% RH. Development was slowest at 15 degrees C and fastest at 30 degrees C. Development was slowest at 43% RH. Few weevils emerged at 43% RH, and only one weevil emerged at 35 degrees C and 75% RH. Granary weevil development from egg to adult emergence on barley was examined at 15, 20, 25, 27.5, and 30 degrees C, and 43, 58, or 75% RH. Development was slowest at 15 degrees C for all RH values and at 43% RH for all temperatures
