  • This article begins by defining the cooperative zone in Europe known as the "Grande Region" (the Greater Region) and the notion of socio-political representation, with reference to the relevant literature. Its objective is to demonstrate how the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg has managed to create a regional or even international labour market, in which cross-border workers are particularly numerous. After providing some context, other factors attesting to this cosmopolitan character are presented; such as professional training and the European issue of unemployment indemnities. The article shows how the resident population of Luxemburg feels about the possible representation of these workers and migrants. It then canvasses in detail the various existing possibilities, institutions and organizations which would allow all of these workers to achieve socio-political representation: unions, social elections, professional chambers and institutions of the Greater Region. The conclusion highlights the many difficulties these cross-border workers face in securing their representation in Luxemburg's immense field of industrial relations, concluding that their socio-political representation is very limited.
