• Only recently have small and continuous low-level contaminations of surface water by petroleum products been examined with respect to the long-term biological effects on marine and freshwater organisms. This paper presents a preliminary survey of the subject in the form of an extensive bibliography in an attempt to avoid duplication and facilitate planning of future work.
