- Highlights ► T, B and NK cells and their subsets were evaluated in COPD patients treated with a bacterial lysate. ► CD3 + 4+ T and activated T cells were increased in treated patients but Tregs were reduced. ► Special subsets of B cells were also significantly modified. ► These findings indicate that one of the mechanisms of action of bacterial lysates in COPD patients is based on selected subsets of immune-competent cells.
