Micro-Abstract This study on early breast cancer detection selected 122 BI-RADS (Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System) 4 lesions in women, calculated the ratio of virtual touch tissue imaging–to–B-mode lesion areas and the ratio of lesion–to–surrounding glandular tissue shear wave velocity by using acoustic radiation force impulse imaging. The mean area and shear wave velocity ratios of benign lesions were both lower than that of malignant lesions, the cutoff for the area and shear wave velocity ratios for malignancy were estimated to be 1.37 and 3.65. Acoustic radiation force impulse is helpful to regulate the BI-RADS classification.
