- Shadowed in the history of Christianity are the religious motivations of movements described as heretical: Arian soteriology remains obscure; however, Arian cosmology has been scrutinized and ordered. A reconstruction of the Arian position in the historical context of controversy with the Manichees in late 3-4th century Egypt is presented.
