Jorgensen reveals that scholars sometimes enlarged the group or questioned the inclusion of various tales, but it has persisted as an object of critical attention. Obviously, in proposing a marriage group of contemporary Mormon short stories, he tells that he cannot expect to discover the kind of conversation or debate that Chaucerians from George Lyman Kittredge to Robert E. Kaske and beyond have analyzed. And though he can't suppose that these stories are talking to one another as Chaucer's marriage tales clearly do, yet still they might be listened to as statements in an ongoing, implicit conversation in Mormon fiction about one of the culture's central concerns. Here, he narrates on how Mormon short story writers, so far, done with this subject.
