• In this study a case of ovarian hemangioma in wild boar is described with histological characterization and immunohistological detection of von Willebrand's factor (vWf), CD31, CD34,Ulex europeaus agglutinin 1 (UEA1), vimentin and keratin in formalin fixed tissue sections. Gross and histological appearance of tumor closely resembled those described in other species. Immunohistochemically, the antibody anti CD-34, and vimentin were the most sensitive markers, staining both cavernous and capillary areas of the tumor, whereasUlex europaeus agglutinin 1 reaction was observed only focally. Our case was keratin negative. It could be concluded that antibodies CD34, vimentin and vWf are useful for studying vascular disorders in wild boar, and based on the immunological characterization more than one cellular origin of the hemangioma was postulated.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
