• Reviews the book, Self-criticism and self-enhancement: Theory, research, and clinical implications edited by Edward C. Chang (see record 2007-11977-000). There is no question that both self-criticism and self-enhancement are two significant constructs in personality socialization. Whether they are two extremes of a dimension of self-presentation or impression management and whether they are positive or negative, conscious or unconscious, are certainly important aspects of any conceptual and empirical consideration.
