An optical-vibration method for determining blood groups. Assessment of the influence of horizontal mechanical vibrations on the distribution of immune complexes in a sample
We present here research seeking to develop an automated method for determining blood groups. Agglutination reactions are detected by photometry of the test sample, which consists of a sessile drop, along with application of mechanical influences to the samples. The influences of the nature of mechanical vibrations on the distribution of immune complexes in the study samples were demonstrated experimentally. A mechanical vibration mode was selected and experimentally grounded for detection of immunological reactions in samples containing monoclonal antibodies and human blood. This method can provide the basis for creating a device for blood group determination and for identifying donor/recipient compatibility during surgical interventions.
