• Tumoral pathology continues to be one of the main causes of death. Computers will be very valuable for the better understanding of this type of lesion, since they make possible the storage and further treatment of information related to daily clinical assistance. In order to create our computer data base, an IBM PC Personal System/2 and a commercial database program (dbaseIII) have been used. The source of information was the retrospective study of 485 clinic histories of patients with head and neck tumoral pathology treated by our service in the last 10 years. Five files were created: Larynx, Oral Cavity, Nasopharynx, Nasoantral cavities, and Salivary Gland. Alpha-numeric codification has been used since it is less complicated for practical reasons and less error prone. We believe that our files (with approximately 50 different variables) include the most important personal, clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary data. A single program makes possible storage, interrelation and access to information.
