Photon interaction parameters can also reveal the development of cancer in breast tissues at various ages. In the present investigations, the MAC values were estimated using EpiXs software for normal and malignant human breast tissues at different age groups by incorporating experimentally determined trace elements by TXRF (Total reflection x-ray fluorescence) spectrometer. A significant difference in the values of effective atomic number was observed between normal and malignant breast tissues of different age groups. As the present investigations incorporate measured trace elements in EpiXs code, the authors feel that the parameters are more authentic, useful to radiation diagnostics, and therapeutic.
