  • Ross et al offer a study that examines the impact of pay transparency laws on job postings in the US. These laws require employers to disclose salary ranges in job postings, and the study specifically focuses on the laws in CO, NY and CA. The researchers collected data from Monster.com, a popular employment website, and analyzed job listings from Nov 2022 to Mar 2023. The study found that compliance with the laws was low, with only a small percentage of job postings including salary ranges. However, there was an increase in the percentage of job postings with salary ranges after the implementation of the laws. The study also analyzed the width of the salary ranges and found that there was variability in the ranges posted. Overall, the study provides insights into how employers are responding to pay transparency laws and the impact of these laws on job postings.
