I congratulate the Zeitschrift für Germanistische Linguistik (ZGL) and its editors Vilmos Ágel, Noah Bubenhofer, Helmuth Feilke, Wolfgang Imo, Anke Lüdeling, and Doris Tophinke on their 50th anniversary: Congratulations and thank you! I am happy to accept the invitation to write a small anniversary contribution and will be guided by the editorial team's ideas about the ZGL's publication language, its focus on German studies, and the thematic breadth within linguistics.
