Punjab is striving hard to catch up health standard as defined in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) milestones. The international development partners have also joined hands with the Punjab government in its efforts to bring about improvement in the health status of the people of Punjab. This article presents an analysis of the issues in the health sector of the Punjab province and the subsequent efforts of the government to take on these challenges and their effects on the society in the said period. Status of the millennium development goals has also been discussed in with special reference to the health indicators in the Punjab.
