  • Objective: The goal of this study is to determine the prevalence of coronary artery disease (CAD) in people with the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) under the age of 42. Methodology: At the cardiology division of Mayo Hospital, this cross-sectional research was conducted. This research included individuals with the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) diagnosed between the ages of 18 and 42 who had coronary angiography, including both male and female patients. Disease severity was assessed using angiographic patterns (number of diseased arteries and location of the lesion). Results: A total of 250 patients were involved in this investigation. The patient’s average age was 34.4 6 years, and 88 percent of them were male. Smoking (32%), hypertension (26%), and a family history of coronary artery disease (18.4%) were also noted. A diagnosis of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) was made for the majority of the patients (75.2%), with anterior wall myocardial infarction (MI) being the most common kind (46.4%) of MI. The left anterior descending artery (LAD) was the most frequently affected vascular in the majority of patients (46.8%), who had single vessel disorders (SVD) (67.2%). 8 patients (3.2%) had a severe left main disease, while non-obstructive CAD affected 5.2% of patients. Conclusion: STEMI is the typical clinical manifestation of ACS in younger people. The most frequent risk factor is smoking, which is followed by hypertension and a family history of CAD. It is anticipated that single-vessel illnesses will affect more than 2/3rd of the young patients, with the LAD being the most frequently affected vessel.
