• An obituary for AIAA Fellow Barry Boehm, a pioneer in the fields of computer science and software engineering who died on Aug 20, 2022 at the age of 87, is presented. Boehm earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Harvard University and his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He worked at the RAND Corporation, TRW Inc., and DARPA over the course of his career before joining the University of Southern California's faculty in 1992. He served as a USC distinguished professor of computer science, industrial and systems engineering, and astronautics until he retired in May 2022.
