  • Multilayer metal sheets have recently attracted significant interest in various applications due to their special properties. One of the common approaches in multilayer sheet production is the transient liquid phase bonding. Transient liquid phase bonding is a relatively new process that utilizes an interlayer to join the materials. This study used magnesium alloy (the lightest industrial metal) and 304 stainless steel to prepare three-layer magnesium steel. Starting with the standard sample dimensions according to the Nakazima test, the three-layer magnesium steel sheet was fabricated using the transient liquid phase bonding. After the Nakazima test, the experimental forming limit diagram was obtained by measuring the surface strain. Compared with the forming limit curve of the magnesium and steel sheets, the deformation behavior of the three-layer magnesium steel sheet is roughly equal to the average of steel and magnesium.
