The results of the theoretical and experimental studies of the field-emission cells with the aspect ratio of several hundred units obtained on the basis of laser milling technology are presented. Hafnium, molybdenum, glassy carbon, and tungsten were used as a material for field emitters. Applicability of field-emission electron cells in electrooptical systems for electric vacuum devices including O-type devices with extended electron beam was demonstrated.
