  • For many years, the willingness to demonstrate in German agriculture was very manageable: in the 1960s there were still vehement protests even against academically located recommendations on agricultural policy (think of the "Professor's Report" in 1962, which proposed a reduction in politically fixed agricultural prices with accompanying measures ), the far-reaching reforms in agricultural policy associated with the names of EU Agriculture Commissioners MacSharry and Fischler hardly resulted in farmers demonstrating to the general public. Now this situation has changed again. The first signs of an increased willingness to demonstrate on the part of farmers have been observed at the International Green Week in recent years, in the quasi-antithesis to the "We are fed up" demonstrations from the spectrum of non-governmental organizations, the "We make you full" initiative is regularly observed in the media. Here there is already a clear difference to past farmers' demonstrations: the demonstrators no longer focus on the agricultural price level or income support in general, rather they are intended to provide information and to achieve social recognition, especially for the food production of agriculture.
