This issue follows on the tail of last November's special issue on fieldwork (volume 62, issue 2, 2021) by offering an article by Drake et al. who explore how field-based learning can change students' perspectives, and Connor, who discusses how spending extended time in another country can contribute to overall life satisfaction (and lessons learned from such field experiences). Alongside these field articles are a couple of poignant, well-researched articles. First, Briggs explores the effects of COVID on the homeless population in Denver, Colorado, and then Bayless offers a geography-in-literature piece centering on the portrayal of Neanderthal and early humans in the works of H.G. Wells and Y.N. Harari. Rounding out this issue is an interesting take by Davis on environmental themes in the video game industry, and a tidy review article by J ohnson and Whitesides outlining the state (and potential future) of artificial reefs in the southeastern US.
