- This article examines the phenomenon of the "manifesto journal," a new type of literary periodical that pioneered a new type of aesthetic communication with the readers. It explores little-known publications of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and materials from the editorial portfolio of the journal Vesy, most of which are concentrated in the personal archive of editor and publisher Sergey Polyakov.
