One of the promising areas of ensuring the fault tolerance of the aircraft control system is reconfiguration. This approach is based on the functional redundancy of the aircraft controls. Modern airplanes, as a rule, have a high degree of redundancy in control elements, which make it possible to create control (not only aerodynamic) forces and moments. From these positions, it seems appropriate to carry out the synthesis of such control laws (algorithms) that would fully use the available arsenal of “excess controls” to ensure the flight characteristics (stability and controllability characteristics) of the aircraft either at the previous (standard) level, or at the level, which ensures the continuation and termination of the flight in a safe mode. This means that the task of synthesizing the control system of an aircraft can be directly associated with the possibility of structural restructuring (reconfiguration) of control laws while maintaining the dynamic properties of the closed loop “aircraft - control system” in the event of failures and damages.
