  • Given that the Eduardo Mondlane University is the first institution in Mozambique to offer completely Web-based courses, this study is one of the first investigations which aims to understand the impact of a module based on understanding of concepts and solving tasks, strongly supported by Spreadsheet, a structured logic webquest and taught at a distance, maximizing the potential of the virtual platform Aulanet in the development of technological skills and knowledge, capabilities and attitudes related to descriptive statistics. To respond to research questions raised, we chose a qualitative approach and a case study strategy developed in a context around the logic of action inquiry. The main participants were students of the Bachelor of Business Management of EMU in Mozambique, attending the discipline of Applied Statistics. For data collection, were favored the techniques of inquiry, document analysis, direct and participant observation, and various instruments such as questionnaires and interviews, students' productions, interventions in the discussion forum, Chat, work and tests, the logbook and field notes, with a view to methodical triangulation.Statistical analysis and content analysis of the data collected demonstrates that learning, at distance, of Descriptive Statistics, exploring technological means of information and communication online and Excel spreadsheet, entered on a webquest strategy, encourages the development of technological skills and knowledge, capabilities and attitudes related to the topic. In parallel, it allowed to reflect on the conditions of teaching and learning that can promote such practices.
