• The Treaty of Trianon (part of the Paris Treaties of 1919-1920) is the culminating moment of modernization of Europe. These treaties enshrine the principle of the existence of nation-states, to the detriment of European empires. As such, the Paris Treaties of 1919-1920 represent a good basis for European unity, while respecting national states and their sovereignty.
