  • Incivility is one of the underscored problems affecting the workplace. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the nurse educators’ experience of incivility from administrators of for-profit academic facilities. Incivility has adverse outcomes, which include high turnover rates, reduced satisfaction levels, poor health, and wellbeing of the nurse educator and low performance. Based on these findings it is imperative to evaluate nurse educators’ experiences with incivility from administrators; how incivility affects employment, and the challenges of addressing this issue. A qualitative method with a basic qualitative approach was the method and design. A sample for the study was selected using purposive sampling; the sample included nurse administrators who have worked in for-profit academic institutions for more than six years. Data were collected from interviews utilizing semi-structured questions; the interviews were then recorded and transcribed. The data was analyzed using Giorgi’s method of analysis, the three themes obtained from the analysis are the nature of incivility, the impact of incivility, and the challenges of addressing incivility. The data showed that nurse educators faced incivilities in the form of verbal, physical, and emotional abuse. The impact of incivility included reduced satisfaction levels, distress, and high rates of intention to quit the job.
