• This essay distinguishes several features of the Kellers' domestic tragedy in All My Sons by discussing it in light shed by John Gabriel Borkman, Ibsen's late tragedy about the family and social impacts of fraud, delusion, and denial. As well as exploring certain intertextualities—such as advice to ex-cons, excuses for business practices, problems with mothers and girlfriends, and forms of retribution—the essay takes into account the effects of repertory performance. It discusses productions of the two plays staged by the Stratford (Ontario) Festival in 2016.
