  • [Display omitted] •The hydrogen bonds and CH⋯π interactions administer the crystal structure.•One of the most efficient methods for producing nanoparticles is ultrasonic irradiation.•The strong intermolecular π⋯π stacking interaction, in addition to hydrogen bonds, creates the system more stable. The zinc coordination complexes [ZnBr2(DTDS)]⋯H2O (1) [DTDS = 1,2-di(1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl) disulfane] and [ZnI(2,2′-bipy)(chb)] (2) (2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine; Hchb = 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzophenone) were prepared as single crystals by conventional solution chemistry and as crystalline nanoparticles under ultrasonic irradiation. The structures of 1 and 2 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. PXRD confirmed that the nanoparticles have the same structure. They were additionally characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The structures were analyzed by Hirshfeld surface analyses to provide more information on the supramolecular interactions and crystal packing.
