Kellen discusses the use of data analytics in higher education administration. While some data, especially scientific data, continues to get arbitrarily dense and hence exponentially bigger, most, if not all, of the structured and unstructured data in college and university operations lies safely within the comfort zones of the available technology. Five technologies in particular are enabling this transformation which include high-speed, in-memory analytics, artificial neural network, and low-cost big data environments.
